Profile description of Deepmental Sa:

BIO A man constantly in search for the perfect sound. An ardent devotee to the creative arts. One whose body is always engaged with the sensory experience that feeds its inherent desire to connect with music. Fumani Ramanyimi, better known by his stage name, Deepmental is best described as a musical phenomenon or a music junkie. This South African DJ, music producer, graphic designer, music composer and arranger, aims to make it worth your while.

Growing up in a musical household, Deepmental was constantly exposed to genres such as mbanqanga, jazz and shangaan traditional music. By the time he entered his teens, the young son of a guitarist was demonstrating his musical intellect in playing musical instruments such as piano, bass guitar and drums. His unwavering talent at a tender age propelled him into local stardom and inspired many who had never seen such an artistic individual.

But the lad would soon leave motherland- Waterval near Makhado in Limpopo, as he headed for Joburg in an attempt to find an avenue for perfecting his producing and mixing techniques. In 2007 Deepmental joined forces with South African producer and mentor, Semitonez and together produced music for renowned acts such as Choppa of the Magarita and Waga Waga fame.

By 2009 Deepmental had spread his wings from production to Spinning Discs and scratching Vynals. His unique approach to the trade soon secured him Gigs as a DJ in flashy, high class Johannesburg clubs like Royal Park, Boxers, Jozi city, Razmatazz, to name the few. It wasnt long before he took to the big stage for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in which he entertained huge crowds with his versatile mixing of house, hiphop, kwaito and dancehall in an unpredictable manner. From this point, the shy but confident DJ never dropped the ball, but continued to thrill crowds in Cape Town, Durban, North West, Free State, playing alongside well established deejays and producers such as Euphonic, Clock, Oskido, Moflava and Shimza to name but a few.
While his deejay career continues to flourish, the man from the north remains loyal to his first love which is producing good music. To his credit, he enjoys a huge following to his deep, tribal and afrosoul house productions, with many of his adoring fans obsessed with his ability to take a listener on a journey to distant and imagined places, through his deep layers of music. Deepmentals mantra is Do not play music, let it play you. With so much achieved in a short space of time, it is unquestionable that he is an auspicious talent and a legend under-construction.
