International Reggae Day, July 1 st, was founded back in the year, 1994 by a one Andrea Davis, with the purpose of celebrating the best of Jamaica's musical creativity uniting the reggae community around the world in one day.
This day has been celebrated since by one of the founding reggae sound system in Kenya, King Lion Sounds(Kenya) Under a syndicate name ''RASTA FESTIVAL'' where they would invite different disc jockey's in Kenya from different sound systems to be part of the event.
