Spanish producer and DJ “DeejayKul” is a compulsive music lover who has played a big part in the Spanish club scene since the late 1980’s.
Raul Navarette started his producing career in 1997 when he landed a remix for “Sindicato Del Crimen” (Madrid based Rap Metal band) and one year later Raul released his debut album on the electronic music label ‘Boozo’. He was also a solid part of the ‘Blacktronica’ Spanish black music scene from the early days delivering the finest Soul and Hiphop, ensuring his finger was on the pulse with new trends such as nu-jazz, neo soul and broken beat.
DeejayKul has always been an artist with many strings to his bow, whether it’s delivering reinterpretations, producing, remixing or composing for commercials, you always know the output will be tight and very well thought out. Later down the line he co-founded the label Xtrasolar Records, and orchestrated collaborations with artist such as American soul singer ‘Lenny Hamilton’ and remixes for the wonderful ‘Monday Michiru’.
A healthy remix portfolio is a must these days, and DeejayKul is up there with the best of them, working with international artists and producers such as Gregory del Piero, Monodeluxe, MAQman, Kenny Bobien, Diviniti, The Rurals and Atjazz. In 2009, the alias Soultechnic was born giving Mr Navarette an extra dimension with which to explore his musical creativity. It is not uncommon to see DeejayKul and Soultechnic to be on mutual remix duties which is a testament to the creativity behind the Alias’.
Deejaykul, Productor y Dj Español, amante compulsivo de la música y habitual de las cabinas desde finales de los 80, comenzó su carrera como productor en 1997, remezclando un tema del grupo Sindicato Del Crimen. Un año después debuta con el álbum Mondofonk, editado por el desaparecido pero recordado sello de música electrónica Boozo. A partir de ese momento, se convierte en un destacado artista de la escena negra/ blacktrónica española, ofreciendo una música que bebe del hip hop y del soul pero que se interesa por las nuevas tendencias, como el nu-jazz, el neo-soul, el house o el broken beat. Reinterpretaciones para Estereocéano, Soulfeenix o Satya Project, colabora, en calidad de productor, con Diargi, Mellowcotton (Miembro) Nalaya Brown, Ikah o Los Rumbers, compone música para diversos anuncios y, en el 2007, suma tres nuevas referencias a su discografía, los singles Mellow Melodies y Find A Way y el larga duración Back To Basics (Peng Records). En 2008, co-funda el Sello Xtrasolar Records añadiendo con ello, nuevas referencias y colaboraciones como por ejemplo con el vocalista norteamericano Lenny Hamilton, Remezclas para Monday Michiru y el lanzamiento de otros artistas como por ejemplo el proyecto Zoulcraft (Toni Rox & Alex Martin) y Synchrosize.
Posteriormente, amplia su currículum como remezclador y ha trabajado con artistas y productores internacionales como por ejemplo Gregory del Piero, Monodeluxe, MAQman y remezclando por ejemplo a Kenny Bobien, Diviniti, The Rurals o Atjazz. Producciones Para el Sello Vibe Boutique Records (Nueva York) o Grooveland Records Brazil con dos remezclas. Gracias a toda esta actividad, sus producciones figuran en recopilatorios como Tarifa Groove Collection o Café Solaire Vol. 13, lo que asegura su difusión internacional. Entre tanto, eso sí, no deja de lado su faceta de Dj, haciendo sesiones no solo España sino tambien fuera de sus fronteras.
Actualmente firma también producciones bajo el alias de Soultechnic.
