Into the Vale

This mix was designed as a psy trance journey, incorporating morning psy and full-on psy as well as thought-provoking samples from sources such as Ekhart Tolle, Waking Life and The Matrix. My goal was to bring the listener into the flow of the present moment through the ebbs and flows of the percussive waves, bringing feelings of connectedness and exhilaration. The mix was accompanied by a live djembe drum performance, and I incorporated nature sounds, such as thunder and lighting, to provide a juxtaposition between the natural and the digital. The bass throbbed on a dance floor that was next to a pond which reflected the brilliant stars overhead. Once again, the performance occurred in the beautiful, magical valley known as Crystal Creek on the Sunshine Coast of BC.
