South Africa has always been one of the hotspots for music, given its geographical location and the various musical influences that thrives within the region. Bass music in particular is extremely vibrant, with players like Maramza catching our attention.
Maramza is the tapeworm inside your head, a producer of unfiltered global future bass music. 2013 has seen Maramza remix the likes of Sibot (released through Jarring Effects), play at parties such as Cold Turkey and YOH and produce an upcoming EP featuring Ruffest coming out on Bombaada in 2014. Knocking up original productions, bootlegs and remixes on his Soundcloud regularly ensures that any Maramza live-set is guaranteed to sound krispy, kwaai and gooi-ing.
For this particular freebie, we have chosen to present his track 'Tearz' which he cleverly takes snippets of Glady's Knight and the Pips' version of 'I heard it through the grapevine', and rework them into a crazy deep grinder with heavy basslines and crisp snares. Shake those hips now.
