As label head honcho, Darin Epsilon, celebrates the success of his much-lauded Sonic Academy tutorial and subsequent remix competition, he joins forces with contest winner Paul Kardos to deliver an EP of exquisite sonic precision in “It’s Not Over Until The End”.

With a 2016 nomination as one of “Beatport’s Best Progressive House Artists” and approaching three hundred production credits to his name, Darin Epsilon needs little introduction to underground music cognoscenti. A globally renowned DJ and producer of rare vision, Epsilon continues to dominate the upper echelons of the underground arena with his work signed to a plethora of imprints including Renaissance, Global Underground, Sudbeat, and Hope Recordings. Hungarian artist Paul Kardos is no stranger to the scene with numerous credits for Soundteller and Bonzai Progressive. Shooting to public notoriety with his winning remix of “One Thousand & One Nights” on Perspectives Digital, his music is supported by luminaries including Nick Warren, Gabriel Ananda, and Nick Muir. Kardos now collaborates with Epsilon in a musical triptych of the highest order.

The title track is a deliciously lilting affair founded upon a cavernous kick drum and head-shaking percussive groove as a collage of melodies emerge from the sonic landscape in analogue glory. Building effortlessly over the early stages, a staccato vocal sample and rousing breakdown crescendo pave the way for an aural assault in the third movement, with “It’s Not Over Until The End” certain to fill dancefloors across the globe.

“Darwin’s Theory” continues proceedings with its seismic kick and tribal percussion as atmospheric jungle effects fill the stereo spectrum. A complex groove continues the narrative before a freeform lead line coruscates through the mid-range with consummate ease at the mid-point breakdown.

As the aural melange of rhythm and melody continues in the third movement, Epsilon & Kardos transport the listener to another world through their sonic architecture. The aptly titled “Cryosphere” wraps up proceedings with its glassy, melodic riffs that twinkle and shimmer in icy, delayed glory. Gated and modulated pads provide the perfect counterpart to a wonderful rhythmic groove that supplies the sonic glue with off-beat shaker patterns and rolling percussion.

A musical vignette of the highest order from the creative minds of Darin Epsilon & Paul Kardos, “It’s Not Over Until The End” is a story with a great deal to tell.
