Black Therapy EP145 - August 18th, 2018

This week for this 145th episode and for his second time on the show, my guest is Benoit Boucher aka Le Boucher.

His craze for music began in the early '80s with the "New Wave" movement. He has for a few years piano lessons with a private teacher. During his university studies in design, he is interested in bass and pinches the strings for 2 years.

Until the age of 19, he explores musical trends in search of originality. His interest is captured by the electronic music of the ambient to the industrial "noizy". A few years later, he is more passionate about "Drum and bass" which impresses with its futuristic style and sounds. In 2004, more mature and having been marked by the album "Consumed" by Plastikman (Richie Hawtin), the return to the Dub, the House and the Techno Minimal Ableton and the Mutek Festival.

These last musical currents inspired to realize in turn his own compositions. With two colleagues, in January 2006, he founded the Eresys collective, which produced Techno / Minimal and Tech House events. Pleasantly inspired, in 2007 he works on the production of performances "live" in duet with the artist Kressel and in 2009 he officially publishes his own compositions. He had fun for a while, remixing the compositions of his colleagues, and the mixer as a DJ everywhere in Montreal.

Finally, he officially retired from the turntables in 2016, concentrating almost exclusively on music research in different styles. This does not mean to prepare some mixes for special occasions.
