<itunes:summary>Daksinamurti is a psychedelic trance artist and Ethnologist from Marburg, Germany. Besides DJ’ing for over a decade, Till manages the labels Sangoma and Timecode Records, and is producing the Live act Android Spirit.
End of the 90’s he discovered what was called “Goa trance” on the beaches and jungle in India and since developed a diverse taste and studied the effects of mind-bending music on the human body. Daksi is constantly on the quest to find new and exciting psychedelic music to release on the labels Sangoma and Timecode, which he runs with his label-partner Emiel from Qatar.
Having played and traveled in many amazing countries and festivals on all continents, Till combined his passion for ethnology, music, and worked on various projects, and labels within the Psychedelic scene such as Shiva Space Technology, Nexus Media, Dacru and Peak Records among others.
Daksinamurti prefers to play extended DJ sets far from predictability and stereotypes in order to create a colorful storyline suitable for dance floors at any hour of the party. His trance inducing sets are ranging from night to light – colorful journeys through energetic psychedelic trance with strong grooves, organic and tribal soundscapes and occasionally a blend of timeless Goa melodies in a forest friendly outfit. Till’s love for diversity and mystical themes are also reflected in multiple compilation releases he worked on - always evolving his perspective of contemporary psychedelic music and culture.
During the years Till has built a reputation within the international scene; sharing his musical visions and vibes at various parties and festivals like Boom (Portugal), Ozora Festival (Hungary), Universo Paralello (Brazil), S.U.N Festival (Hungary), Hadra Trance Festival (France), Rezonance/ Alien Safari (South Africa), Summer Never Ends (Switzerland), Universal Religion (Nepal), VuuV (Germany), Antaris (Germany), Fusion (Germany), Freedom Festival (Portugal), Psy- Fi (Netherlands) …
Daksinamurti’s project “Android Spirit” together with his friend Josef (Tickets/Brethren) was launched in 2013, and they soon released their debut album “Synthetic Organism” on Timecode Records in 2014.

Get the release here: https://timecode.bandcamp.com/album/spirit-voices-compiled-by-gata-freak-daksinamurti

Here is a mix of the compilation "Spirit Voices" which i compiled together with my labelpartner Emiel. This release from 2013 is one of my personal favorite and many of these tracks seem timeless and still work. I first played this release at Boom Festival 2012 in Portugal for which i had it mastered and i discovered the artist Anderson Debernardi there, who contributed this amazing artwork. This release is also one of the last masters of the legendary Artifakt. Just after this release came out our distributor from Hongkong went bankrupt so the CDs never got distributed correctly. Hope you enjoy :)
Daksi

Tracklist:
1. Ianuaria - The Theory of Elements
2. Yudhisthira - Bhumandala
3. Primordial Ooze - Impact Theory
4. Gaspard - Get with the Program
5. Southwild - Twiddle My Dot
6. Synthetik Chaos - Nothing is fucked
7. Via Axis - Light Portals
8. Yudhisthira, Braincell - The Room (Braincell rmx)
9. Soladria - USSR Signal
10. Etnica - Surpressive Fire

Greetings inhabitants of the blue planet! Sangoma Recs presents a new dose of tasty medicine for your ears – this time compiled by label owners Gata Freak & Daksinamurti. The two present a very special selection of contemporary psychedelic gems, tested on various dancefloors around the planet. Music with soul - prescribed by your sonic witchdoctors - combining ancient knowledge with modern technologies for an ecstatic trance dance experience. A perfect treatment for all aimless wandering “Mzungus” out there in search of something real.
Organic and driving grooves, melodies with the vibe of the golden Goa days and new surprises await you on this spicy audio & visual journey. Authentic music written by some of the most creative and unique artists within this scene ranging from trance veterans like Etnica to leading contemporary artists and big names of tomorrow. Music with love, peace and compassion - communicating to all living beings. Let the spirit voices guide you through the night.

Long ago all the elements were mixed together with one germ of life. This germ began to mix things around and around until the heavier part sank and the lighter part rose. A muddy sea that covered the entire earth was created. From this ocean grew a green shoot. It grew and grew until it reached the clouds and there it was transformed into a god. Soon this god grew lonely and it began to create other gods. The last two gods it made, Izanagi and Izanami, were the most remarkable. One day they looked down on the ocean and wondered what was beneath it. Izanagi thrust his stick into the waters and as he pulled it back up some clumps of mud fell back into the sea. They began to harden and grow until they became the islands of Japan.

Kami or shin is defined in English as "god", "spirit", "spiritual essence" and refers to the divinity, or sacred essence, that manifests in multiple forms. Rocks, trees, rivers, animals, places, and even people can be said to possess the nature of kami. Kami and people exist within the same world and share its interrelated complexity. Kami refers particularly to the power of phenomena that inspire a sense of wonder and awe in the beholder (the sacred), testifying to the divinity of such a phenomenon.
There are natural places considered to have an unusually sacred spirit about them, and are objects of worship. They are frequently mountains, trees, unusual rocks, rivers, waterfalls, and other natural things. In most cases they are on or near a shrine grounds. It is a sacred space, creating a separation from the "ordinary" world.

This mix was recorded in November 2016 at Jaai club in Osaka during a Sangoma party organized by my friend Eiichi (Dj BuzZ). It resembles the raw and crazy dancefloor energy in the rather small but packed club of a memorable night. My love and gratitude to the vibrant Japanese scene which for sure know how to party and spread good vibes and are an enrichment for every festival! Arigato

The setlist contains tunes by artists such as Gaspard, Purist , Module Virus, Virtual light, Illegal Machines, Diksha, Elf De La Nooi, Once Upon A Time, Samadhi, Kala, Synthetik Chaos among others.
<itunes:summary>Long ago all the elements were mixed together with one germ of life.

Arigato

Sangoma Records present “Sangomandala” the new compilation of our labelmanager Daksinamurti – a unique blend of sophisticated music, which gets straight to the point – getting you into an ecstatic state of trance. Legends from the early days of Goatrance, new discoveries, Sangoma regulars and some of the best contemporary artists join forces and deliver some amazing collaborations. The selection is an inward journey full of analog sounds – giving a very organic and timeless approach to the musical selection suitable for any hour of the day. A specific element of this release is its groove that develops its own deepness into hypnotic effects and inner landscapes. Creating archetypes in a Jungian sense that resonate with collectively unconscious ideas, primordial images and patterns of thought that is universally present in individual psyches. An aural music selection far away from any of this genres stereotypes and attitudes, like a sonic mandala this music may be employed for practitioners, adepts and listeners as a spiritual guidance tool for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation and trance induction.

Mount Kailash is a mountain located in Tibet and is a sacred pilgrimage site in four religions: Bön, Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism.
Its shape is like the pyramids in Egypt with four nearly symmetrical sides with a glistening snow-covered top. Hindus believe Mt. Kailash to be the abode of Lord Shiva, the destroyer of ignorance and illusion, resides at the summit of this legendary mountain, where he sits in a state of perpetual meditation along with his wife Parvati.
Bonpos believe the sacred mountain to be the place where the founder of the Bön religion landed when he descended from the sky. The Bon a religion that predates Buddhism in Tibet, maintain that the entire mystical region and the nine-story Swastika Mountain are the seat of all spiritual power. Followers of Bon, Tibet's pre-Buddhist, shamanistic religion call the mountain Tise and believe it to be the seat of the Sky Goddess Sipaimen.
Vedas mentioned Mount Kailash as cosmic axis and world pillar, center of the world, and world tree. It is also considered to be the mysterious mount mera Meru - the world center between Heaven and Earth, a point of connection between sky and earth where the four cardinal directions meet.
Music wise we start the journey with a good dose of groove, bring into harder realms and unleash some morning madness with some goavibes towards the end...
Big thanks to Markus , Katja & Fusion Festival for bringing me for the 3rd time and trusting in me and my music. I am always amazed by the subcultural potential of the global festival scene and find Fusion does the magic of bringing so many different people together. It is a place to laugh, learn without loosing focus of political and cultural realities of todays; more - it shows options, alternatives and solutions that in a way makes this gathering a temporary revolutionary Utopia.

Wow what an extreme ride it was. Sangoma label DJ sG4rY and me played this set on the morning of one of the hottest days in Germany since the measurement of temperature which hit the 40° mark. We performed from 6:30 - 8:30 in the morning with temperatures already above 30° after a night of heavy music (the act before us ended with 174bpm) at one of Germanys oldest and most respected Psytrance festivals - the 21st edition of Antaris Project. The day ended with a massive storm which threatened to stop the festival - but the show went on besides the extreme circumstances which brought people to their limits but didnt break the spirit ... Big thanks to to Jonas, Uwe and Antaris crew and everybody who was part of that great weekend :)

The tempo in this set range from 155 - 148 bpm and contains tracks by Kabayun, Chris Rich, Via Axis, Gaspard, Babagoon, Virtual Light, Fungus Funk, Ajja, Synthetik Chaos, Dirty Saffi, Hookers & Hypereggs, Fagin's Reject, Samadhi and others (in no particular order- you need to find out yourself ;) ...

A Tanuki (Japanse Raccoon dog) is a supernatural figure and real existing animal, significant in Japanese folklore since ancient times. The legendary being is reputed to be mischievous and jolly, a trickster, a spook and a shapeshifter that has the ability to take possession of others. Often when mysterious occurrences appeared it was believed to be the work of the Tanuki. He became subject of various rituals and is associated with many local legends and places all over Japan.
His trickery is legendary: it is said he would block people’s paths at night though creating wall-like structures, fool others through mirages, selling leaves from trees that appear as gold, turning dung into dinner and are capable of producing thunder and rain. On moonlight nights when the weather is clear he drums his belly. Gathering every now and then to dance around shrines and fields under the moon.
Today in modern Japan his image has shifted from a frightening mysterious creature into a generous and often amusing cheerful fellow - often present as ceramic statues outside bars and restaurants.
The modern Tanuki became a cute icon for wealth and prosperity. He is appropriated by Japan’s commercial interest and appears, besides his well-known Shikagari ware statue, in cartoons, comic books and movies. Even in video games such as Nintendo’s Super Mario. His traits like the big belly, large scrotum, sake bottle with promissory note (which he never pays) and straw hat were reinterpreted and co-opted into what is called Tanuki’s Eight Virtues which is supposed to bring good fortune: He often has a bewildered, smiling, often goofy looking expression, wide eyes, a big tummy and a curious looking giant scrotum. The Tanuki transformed from a wild, often feared creature with trickster traits and knowledge of magic to a more domesticated cheerful and beloved being who is beneficial to humans bringing prosperity and success. Either way they have not lost their mystifying love for music. In certain moonlight nights you can sense them dance to the beat of their drums going “ponpoko pon pon“.
Sangoma Records proudly presents this mind-bending compilation by BuzZ from Japan and Daksinamurti from Germany, who will send you on a musical journey to discover the Tanuki – an ancient magical being significant to Japanese folklore. After an action filled week in Japan they decided to join forces, and this release is the result of a friendship regardless of any cultural, language or timezone barriers.
A cosmic fusion between East and West, which found it’s common ground in their love for psychedelic music. Playful and groovy music apart from stereotypes await you with a strong focus on crispy clear production highlighted by clean mastering by Scorb. Buzz and Daksi have gathered some of their favorite artists and new talent to showcase their interpretation of nighttime music made to be played outdoors under the moon.

Creating Sacred Space
This first part of a multi hour set comes in a forest friendly daytime outfit, a good dose of groove transitioning into more uplifting hypnotic soundscapes and beyond. This contemporary tale wants to give back a little bit of magic to our modern civilization, which in many ways works on fear - leaving one with the impression that the world is an unsafe, hostile place. To be healthy, man has to experience the setting we are designed for: nature.
Since the early days of mankind and in many shamanic rituals, sacred space is created by invocating the spirits of the four cardinal directions - South, West, North, and East - as well as the sky (father) and earth (mother). These share the basic concept that all of life is inter-related and inter-dependent and everyone within protected. Also sacred architecture, like temples and places of worship, function in a similar way - making "transparent the boundary between matter and mind, flesh and the spirit." It is the invitation to retreat deep into the wilderness, sacrificing modern comforts for the benefits of greater autonomy and freedom, proclaiming new (old) forms of communal space for gathering and participation. By opening sacred space we leave behind profane affairs of ordinary life and allow us to enter our inner worlds. Unfortunately, laws and regulations as well as commercial interests often contradict and sabotage these needs making it a highly political affair to create new and sustain the last existing spaces. Creating sacred space by providing a place for dance, laughter and worship, could be the remedy of our time and carries the ability to repair, harmonize and even bring around healing.
