Biografía:
Tenor Saw fue uno de los artistas más importantes en los inicios del ragga y del dancehall. Cuando los sonidos roots comenzaban a juguetear con otros más digitales, allí estaba el joven Tenor haciendo importantes temas que le convertirían en uno de los artistas más influyentes de la música jamaicana de entonces.
Tenor Saw nació en Kingston, Jamaica, el 11 de febrero de 1966 con el nombre de Clive Bright. Se crió en la avenida Payne del distrito West Kingston. Como muchos otros niños de la zona, el pequeño Clive pasaba su tiempo en el coro de la iglesia, donde aprendió a cantar.
Tenor Saw se inició en el reggae muy pronto y comenzó a participar en las fiestas que montaban los sound system de Kingston. Participó sobre todo con el sound system de Sugar Minott, y allí compartió escena con otros miembros de su generación como Cutty Ranks, Yami Bolo, Burro Banton, etc. Entre todos estos artistas, el estilo de Tenor Saw le hizo inconfundible y se ganó el cariño de la gente. Su particular forma de entender el dancehall se desmarcaba de la crudeza de otros artistas. Él optó, como por ejemplo Yami Bolo, Lacksley Castell o Hugh Mundell, en darle a la melodia vocal el peso de la canción.
La primera grabación de Tenor Saw data de 1984. Se trata de Roll Call sobre el Queen Majesty Riddim que el joven artista grabó para Powerhouse. Tras esta grabación, tanto él como su amigo Nitty Gritty, comenzaron a trabajar con y para Sugar Minott; en esta época grabó algunas de sus canciones más exitosas como Fever o Pumpkin Belly.
Su mayor logro, Ring The Alarm lo grabó sobre el clásico Stalag Riddim para el sello Techniques, de Winston Riley (asesinado hace un año).

El éxito logrado con aquel single le permitió trabajar con el rey midas del reggae digital, King Jammy, con el que grabaría temas sobre sus ritmos digitales, como Pumpkin Belly sobre el archiconocido Sleng teng Riddim.
El siguiente disco del artista se convirtió inmediatamente en leyenda en el cual se incluyeron canciones que utilizaban los antiguos ritmos de los sellos más clásicos revisionados por el nuevo sonido reggae digital. Aquel disco fue Fever.
Tras la grabación del álbum, Tenor Saw se marchó a Estados Unidos donde grabó algunas canciones más.
En agosto de 1988 llegó la confusa noticia de la muerte del artista. Tan solo tenía 22 años.
La versión más extendida de su muerte es que fue atropellado accidentalmente por un coche en Houston, Texas. Sin embargo, mucha gente cree que Tenor Saw tenía bastantes enemigos, que eso fue la causa mayor por la que abandonó Jamaica, y que, en definitiva, fue asesinado.
Fuera lo que fuese, la carrera de Tenor Saw se truncó como la de muchísimos jóvenes artistas jamaicanos. Sin embargo, su música sigue estando presente en toda fiesta dancehall que se precie.
El pasado 11 de febrero de 2016, Tenor Saw hubiera cumplido 50 años. Felicidades Clive.

Born in Victoria Jubilee Hospital, Kingston, Jamaica, Bright was raised as the fourth of six children in the Payne Land, Maverley and Olympic Gardens areas of West Kingston before the family settled in Duhaney Park.[1] Bright had a religious upringing and sang in the Seventh-day Adventist Church of God choir in Olympic Gardens.[1] Seeking to make it as a recording artist, Bright approached several of Kingston's producers. After being rejected by several others, George Phang gave the youngster a chance; His first single, "Roll Call" was recorded in 1984 for Phang's Powerhouse label, on the "Queen Majesty" rhythm.[1][2][3] He moved on, with his friend Nitty Gritty, to work with Sugar Minott's Youth Promotion sound system and Black Roots Records label, having hits in Jamaica with "Lots of Sign", "Pumpkin Belly", "Run Come Call Me", and "Fever".[2][3] His most successful single, however, was "Ring the Alarm", voiced over the "Stalag" riddim for Winston Riley's Techniques label.[1][2] The singles' success saw Tenor Saw work with King Jammy, recording "Pumpkin Belly" on Jammy's (then) new "Sleng Teng" rhythm.[3] Further hits followed in 1986 with "Golden Hen" (on the Uptempo label), and Minott issued Tenor Saw's debut album, Fever, that year.[2] In common with most dancehall albums of the period, most of the rhythms were digital adaptions of older tunes from the 1960s and 1970s, usually produced originally by Coxsone Dodd or Duke Reid. Thus, "Shirley Jones" is based on the "Rougher Yet" riddim (named after Keith "Slim" Smith's "Rougher Yet"), and "Eeni Meeni Mini Mo" uses the "Real Rock" riddim from Studio One, while "Roll Call" versions The Techniques' "Queen Majesty" from Duke Reid, and "Lots of Sign" uses the bassline of "Tonight" by Keith & Tex, produced by Derrick Harriott.[citation needed]

By the time the album was released, Tenor Saw had relocated to Miami, joining the Skengdon crew, where he recorded "Dancehall Feeling" and "Bad Boys". He recorded "No Work On a Sunday" for Donovan Germain, before moving to New York, where he recorded with Freddie McGregor ("Victory Train"). His last recording, "Chill Out Chill Out", was a duet with General Doggie.

In August 1988 he was killed by a motor vehicle in Houston, Texas, with the official cause of death determined as a case of hit and run accident, although other sources insist that he was murdered.[3][4] He died at 21 years of age. Tenor Saw is regarded as one of the most influential singers of the early digital reggae era of the mid-1980s
