I've prinicipally used Polygon by Glitchmachines for the main atmospheric sounds, using a vocal sample from the Ivy Audio Clare solo; a glitched farfisa sample; An atmos sample from 99Sounds Cinematic Sound FX and a sample from the Morning Beast sample pack. These are all excellent free sample packs and I've used Polygon quite subtly to create the atmosphere.

I've then tried to add mostly natural sounds sympathetically and subtly adding a Cimbalom (Alchemy player), Ehru (Mini Ehru VST), bass / cello (String Theory VST) and used Kirnu-Cream CM to create an arp from Serenity Free by H G Fortune. I've also used a wind chime sample from Warped World sample pack.
I removed percussion because it overcrowded the sound too much and however hard I tried I couldn't get it to sound right.
Was this due to an error with the programming or did the machine want it to happen once it realised what it had awakened into?
The song uses samples from the XSL sample pack by Thalamus Labs which have been processed in Cataract by Glitchmachines to produce a rhythmic loop.
There are also other loops made in Cataract using samples from 99Sounds which have more random modulation so have less rhythmic structure and some bass sounds processed with Hysteresis (Glitchmachines).
<itunes:summary>This is my entry to EFC Music Challenge 9

The song is based on one of the themes of the film - a machine becoming sentient which is then withdrawn due to malfunction.

There are also other samples from 99Sounds and the XSL sample pack which have been processed to varying degrees. </itunes:summary>
