Hyena is one of the musical projects of giona vinti, one of the founding members of the rexistenz labelcollective. it started in the early 2000’s, initially focused on breakcore then slowly shifting to what he and the other rexistenz members like to call mutant dancefloor.
one of his major interests is the dissolution of the borders between experimental and popular, dancing and listening, sacred and profane.
his stuff is out on various labels (rexistenz, noisj.nl just to name the most recent) in various formats.
as most of his rexistenz brothers, hyena is mainly a live performer with years of experience both with hardware and software and has played a lot of shows in italy and europe during the years.
he works as sound designer and music technology trainer and consultant. he’s also frequently doing sound engineering live for international cutting edge electronic artists in milano.
