I was a typical young man when I turned 19 on this date in 1985. It was an amazing time for pop music and I used to make mixtapes of my favorite tunes just like everyone else I knew. I still have a few lying around today.

But what if I had been on Mixcloud back then? What would a typical week of Urban Daydreams have sounded like? Today, all these years later, we’ll find out. This show is made up of some of the best contemporary jazz from that year; many are deeper album cuts you probably haven’t heard for a very long time. For my birthday today I give this gift to all of you, please enjoy this flashback to ’85.
