The Techno Edition goes on with a new talent from Berlin. Chris von B. was born in Essen in Germany and grew up in a small city in the area surrounding the Ruhr – Velbert.
His musical interests were very versatile in his youth; his taste was affected by many different genres.
Because of his friends, he early recognized his favor for Hip-Hop as well as for electronic music. Soon he knew where his journey should go to and in the age of 14 he started his career. His first walk to a record shop? – Done!
He only bought what he liked to hear and what sounded good to him, simply because he did not know better. And by and by his love to techno music grew stronger and stronger.
Obsessed with the electronic sound, Chris von B. got to know the scene better and from that time on he knew he never wanted to leave again.

With 19 he absolutely wanted to go back to his roots, to Berlin, not only the capital city from Germany, but also the capital city from techno.
There his taste developed and stabilized more and more.
Affected by the dart sound of the Berlin clubs, like Berghain or Tresor, he found his own style very fast and soon he recorded and published his first own sets.
He immediately knew, he wanted more and with a strong belief in himself, he had his first gig 2015 at his place of birth – in Essen.
The following bookings for Essen and as well for Berlin were confirmed as fast as possible and then he had his second gig at the newcomer event “Resole” in the Frohnatur in Essen.
In April followed his benefit on the newcomer contest from Subkultur Bochum, where Chris von B. became the opportunity to show what he got on the festival “Licht ist Musik ist Abenteuer”.
After numerous successful gigs in Berlin and the area all around the Ruhr, he won the newcomer contest from “Sound of Butan” in the Butan club in Wuppertal, where he got the chance to close the main floor next to Marcel Fengler.
By having gigs in clubs as the “Brunnen 70″, the “MAGDAlena” and some others of the Berlin scene, he is on a very good way to establish himself with his dark, coltish sound.

In his sets he skillfully combines the best from various genres. With the right feeling for the sound which represents him he is booked all over Germany and internationally. His was billed for clubs and festivals like WMC in Miama, Nature One, Ruhr in Love, Suicide Circus (Berlin), Studio (Essen), Hotel Shanghai (Essen), Butan (Wuppertal) and many more. Through his collaboration with Spedro many EPs and remixes came up on notable labels like Supdub, Elevation Ltd, Momentum and Cimelde. Bob’s Spaced Out EP, released on Broombeck’s label Yes We Can in November 2014, is also available on vinyl and received a huge amount of positive feedback. The result of a successful cooperation with John Lagora is the label Seoul Community. The imprint can look back at an impressive catalogue of artists like Kolombo, Kevin Over, MSMS, Spedro, Kasbah Zoo and Yooj.

Naples is a hotbed of electronic music talent right now. Marco Carola is the most obvious exponent of the city’s penchant for eclectic sounds, but a host of other adept DJs and producers are starting to emerge from the city, making their presence felt on a national and global scale. Pierluigi & Gianluca Di Tonto AKA Brothers in Progress are two such individuals.

Born and raised in the city, the brothers got their hands on their first set of decks at the tender ages of 14 and 17 respectively. As brothers tend to do, there was simply no question of one being in sole control of the ones and twos. With the benefit of hindsight this proved particularly influential, as it opened the door for a most interesting dynamic, a dynamic whereby their collective musical influences soon became intertwined. As partners, they mastered the craft of DJing together, honing their skills in a back-to-back fashion they practice up to this very day.

And as their obsession with house and techno intensified, so did their longing to create their own sounds. Keen not to rush the process, they spent years labouring behind computers and analogue equipment, scrupulously analysing the complexity of sound and only putting their hand to a record once they were certain it boasted all the hallmarks of a dance floor gem.

When the record did come out, it made an immediate impression, with the ‘Shell Shocked’ EP signed to seminal Brazilian imprint, High Definition. With a remix by Sami Wentz included on the package, it proved the catalyst for further productions to come on further esteemed labels such as Bitten, Zoo:Technique, Dantze, BlackFlag Recordings, BlaBla, Monique Musique and Timid Boy and Acumen’s Time Has Changed. And as you’d imagine from a duo that have released music on Brazilian, Canadian and French labels, theirs is a sound that resonates across the globe, with its penchant for intricate textures and flair-laden hues a sure fire winner on any dance floor.

Having played alongside the likes of Robert Armani, Derrick May and Luke Slater over the years, and with a residency at much-vaunted Naples’ Woo! party a current endeavour of theirs, the brothers skill behind the decks is unquestionable. With more releases (both on digital and on vinyl) and more gigs planned for the future, the brothers may be showing clear signs of progress, but it’s a transition that’s well worth getting down with.

John Lagora was born in Oberhausen, Germany. His love for music started at the early age of 12 while he was listening to the early 90s Essential Mixes broadcasted by the British radio station Bfbs. Very early it got pretty clear that his passion meant more than just listening to music and so he started to look for possibilities to produce electronic music and to learn how to Dj. 15 years later, you can say that his passion for electronic music as well as his constant will to develop were absolutely worth it. Remixes for global players like Gayle San, releases on labels like Plus8 and Mindshake and collaborations with Paco Osuna are evidence of his continuously drive of passion. The list of remixers including world class artists like Maetrik aka Maceo Plex, Whebba,Renato Cohen or Sis who put their hands on his tracks is also remarkable. Since 2010 he has constantly played as a live act or with his dynamic Dj sets at some of the best Spanish clubs including Elrow and Club 4 in Barcelona, Florida 135 or Sankey on Ibiza. His own label Seoul Community was just relaunched and reflects his entire definition of electronic music. The goal is to connect artists with each other, to have a good time and to create a friendly community.

Viva la Electronica presents this week a great talent from South America. Make some noise for David Grasso and Julian Maxim two men originating in Colombia. Although they started their careers as individual DJs, in 2008 decided to join and shape the successful duo Grasso & Maxim. In 2008 these two DJs shared residence in one of the major clubs in his hometown Manizales (SPACE CLUB), where his talent and versatility behind the decks made, to acquire a nationally recognized, his energy and good taste in music leads them to make presentations across the country, in major clubs and festivals.

Viva la Electronica presents this week a great talent from South America. Make some noise for David Grasso and Julian Maxim two men originating in Colombia. Although they started their careers as individual DJs, in 2008 decided to join and shape the successful duo Grasso & Maxim. using a crowbar so that his sounds rains down on the dancing crowd.

In 1979 Swiss born reject to be a fare dodger, also proofs his exceptional finger
acrobatics when mixing his sound and imprints an event his individual stamp. It's no
wonder that for almost 8 years his own produced compositions are fringing his musical path. His mother doesn't regret of buying her sons first vinyl disk 17 years ago. Inspired by "kraftwerk", Steve Cole attempted his first public show in 1995. It shows quickly - life under the disco sphere is exciting and many gigs all over Europe followed.

In 2009 he founded „Schallbox Records“ where several well-known artists like Florian Meindl, Pascal Feos, Martin Eyerer, Andreas Henneberg, Tigerskin, Sweet n Candy, Monoroom, Animal Trainer and youANDme have done some remixes. The promising Swiss belongs to the techno-Beat-scene, just like the grooves of a vinyl disk.
