Bobby & The Xennials: 1994 Part 1 | Redemption

Another one from my scrapbook of the soul. We've reached 1994 in the Xennials series - the year I turned 18! Lots of significant life moments, but probably most relevant to this mix, the year I got my first club residency (an alternative student night), & went to my first festival. The year jungle music exploded, trip hop was at its peak, & britpop began dominating the charts. I was a hip hop soul kid, DJing at an indie night, hanging out in a jungle shop, raving to techno.
This first 94 mix focuses more on the hip hop side. 94 was in the midst of the golden era with debut LPs from Nas, The Fugees, Gravediggaz & Notorious BIG, & huge albums by Beastie Boys, Gang Starr, TLC, Pete Rock & Mary J Blige, along with epic releases by Portishead, Massive Attack, The Prodigy, indie disco smashes by the likes of Oasis, Beck & Green Day, & jungle anthems c/o Goldie & Shy FX.

110+ tracks over 2.5hrs, laced with various film clips.
