live looping artists. On her latest EP, she presents anóther part of her musical DNA:
downtempo electronic. The EP comes with three songs and two remixes.
Made with classic synthesizers and 808 beats, the songs are reminiscent of the late 80’s and
early 90’s, with a touch of nu jazz. To give you an idea of the sound: Massive Attack meets Jan
Hammer with Kate bush on vocals.
Laura wrote these three songs about seven years ago. Back then, she didn't have the skills yet to
record and arrange them exactly as she heard them in her head. So like special bottles of reserva
wine, she put the songs on the shelf for a couple of years to let them ripen and develop, until it
was the right time to serve. After a Juno 106 synthesizer crossed her path, things fell into place
and Laura was ready to record the songs. For the title song Merge, she teamed up with Mexican
musicians MIDI_Pipe and Eliud Ernandes whom she met during her first Mexican tour in 2018.
Italian deejay/producer Belabouche remixed the song Merge, as did debuting producer j melon.
Inspired by the Mexican collaboration, Laura will return to Mexico and play a release concert at
Pizzajazz in Mexico City on Saturday 26 January. This concert is part of a mini Mexico City tour
with MIDI_Pipe in January, with shows on the 24th at Raices Centro Cultural, the 27th at Terraza
MontRose and the 29th at Capitan Gallo.
