Nhlanhla Makhubo “aka” Nhlex TheMessenger was born and raised in the East Rand, Tembisa to be specific “Endulweni Section” then moved to Olifantsfontein. Nhlex has been a huge supporter and follower of House Music since the early 90’s while in high school. The love and passion for house music started when his uncle used to collect Vinyl’s/LP’s/Records and play them just for fun. The intrigue began when he met a friend who used to spin vinyl and thereafter begged him to teach him how to play. After being advised to start knowing the music through the artists, record labels, vocalist etc…. a collection of these vinyl ensued and eventually he was given a chance and taught how to mix through the turntables in 2001 and eventually he had a whole turntable and mixer set.
His main core ingredients range from Lounge, Acid-Jazz, Nu-Jazz, Soulful-House, Deep-House and a bit of Deep-Tech.

Nhlex has played at many various hangouts/clubs in Gauteng and neighboring provinces. He has hosted events featuring some of the most prolific and very well recognized spinners like Vinny Da Vinci, Christos, Malankane, Kanunu, Miggs, Trev The Japanes, Culoe De Song, Julien Gomes, Thabo Phalatse, Picat The Italian, Zeedan, Thobs, Dj Buhle just to mention a few as the list goes on.

Through his repository foundation “DeepSoul Unlimited”, he saw himself awarded an opportunity to be featured on Mzansi Channel’s Vinny’s House Season 3 in 2017. A new South African House music television show hosted by the legendary Vinny Da Vinci. Furthermore, he has been featured on Hit-Refresh twice, still under the alias DeepSoul Unlimited.
