Beatfarmer's new CD, Spirit presents a tapestry of organic percussion, instruments and vocals, woven with electronic synths and basslines creating a deep tribal sound that will drive your body to dance and make your spirit strong. The CD begins with Until Next Morning and Spirit, downtempo tracks with sitars and vocals from India, deeply grounding beats and bass, with drifting melodies, these tracks serve to ground the listener and prepare them for the journey ahead. Like beatfarmer's sacred downtempo sets, electronic bass and drumlines mix with devotional vocals and melodies to create a connection with mankind's history of coming together to dance to the beat, and connect with our spiritual selves.

The CD then moves into midtempo world fusion tracks, tribal beats that will make you move, while samples of world percussion, instruments and vocals maintain the feeling of a sacred connection with the earth. Rainy Season is a bouncy celebration of the gift of water. The track was written during the spring when the west coast rainforests are drenched with rain, in preparation for the dry summer ahead. Native State, includes a cello part by JennaJade and an Indian vocal sample dancing together through the night sky.
Beatfarmer's remix of the Bolting Brassicas has been a long time coming. Following the Lasquirkus Circus tour, where they first played together, beatfarmer has played frequently with Lasqueti's marching band, opening and closing out their shows with world fusion/Balkan beat dance sets. The band recently had the opportunity to record three songs while playing as part of Honkfest, in Seattle Washington and it seemed natural to try to create an electronic fusion of our two styles. The first track to receive this treatment is "Firecat", written by band member Pachiel Smith. Bouncing basslines mingle with the Sousaphone, the brass section provides the main rift, while oboes and clarinets swing with the melody.

Cherished brings the listener back to beatfarmer's sacred downtempo work. Following the grounding tribal midtempo tracks, Cherished is a love song that will have the listener floating up from the earth with glitchy drum rifts, South American flutes and synths which drift off to the stars.

Every journey must come to an end, this journey ends with The Long Day, Over, an ambient track which has been beatfarmer's most popular track on soundcloud. Just a hint of jungle drums fade in and out with deep synths and sitars. Another beautiful Indian vocal part calls to the listener as if to wake them from a dream, or call them to another.
