This time round, we head to over to Deutschland to present to you all one of the countries rising talents: Run the State

Born and raised with his drums and sense of rhythm, Run the State finds his musical origins in the early drum lessons and bedroom sessions on his Tama drum kit from the age of 8. Besides his bedroom sessions, he has been the lead drummer of several bands, orchestras and percussion groups. He still plays the drums frequently and he expanded his drum equipment with a Roland TD-9 V-drums (electronic drum kit) and more recently the Ableton Push 2. With the last expansion, he hopes to combine all his drum experience and his fiery love for techno, tech house and deep house into creating some new, banging tracks.

Born and raised with his drums and sense of rhythm, Run the State finds his musical origins in the early drum lessons and bedroom sessions on his Tama drum kit from the age of 8. Something a little different this time round, we have a mix purely based and created using female only productions, presenting to you Mexican DJ: Blakanwight

Born and raised in Mexico City, at the age of 17 Blakanwight started her formation as classical percussionist. Through her school years she has had the honor to collaborate with different Percussion Ensembles and Orchestras. Later on she moved to California and there she had the opportunity to joined a Latin Jazz Ensemble workshop. After several years away from playing music, she just started a new project as a DJ; "knitting" sounds that have passed through her listenings, life and experience.

From prehispanic music to industrial techno and all that's in between. Blakanwight is finding a new way of expression through music.

In May 2014, Vélez moved to Lisbon and starts a career as a producer. His first original track made in collaboration with Alyosha Barreiro is available now under the label TurnDown Records. Vélez moves between Mexico City and Lisbon playing at different venues with artists like Tadeo, Boris, Chimp 504, Argenis Brito, Bastard Love, Sepypes, Jeroen Search & Twofold.

Very close to the experimental electronic music and sound art, Vélez combines different musical genres in his sets, ranging from Techno, Minimal or IDM, always looking for that proper sample or loop, Vélez reaches and creates imaginary atmospheres: an instant into the inner side of music.
