We have made it halfway through Season One, we have hit Episode six! What a year 2020 has been, musically we have become more connected, but the Coronavirus situation leaves a deeply concerning and uncertain future for people whose sole source of income is from the music industry. Thankfully in the UK there is a rescue package incoming for the arts, hopefully this will keep our favourite venues open, and allow continuity for the industry until which time promoters, venues, and party people can come together in perfect harmony.

This is the second episode since we changed the format of the podcast, introducing an alternating monthly trancier episode and a harder episode. You know what that means…. It is time to get HARD!!!

Our harder episode is set to satisfy those that like it harder, faster, and those kicks crunchier. We have for you a killer array representing the very best tracks across Hardstyle, UK Hardcore, Happy Hardcore, & European Hardcore. Not only that we catch up for a good old chin wag with the North-West and 24/7 Hardcore badman Fitzy K who supplies us with a fast paced and energetic UK Hardcore / Makina set, which in his own words is “fast, hard, dirty, and cheesey”. He gives us a history lesson in the origins of Makina, and what makes the North West rave scene so unique.

The result: 2005 won by one vote, with 2003, 2004 and 2006 being very close.

The result is a mix made up of tracks that: were released in 2005, were still doing the damage on '05 dancefloors despite being released in previous years, were big in 2005 but not released until 2006, and tracks that I wish I had heard more often in the glorious year that is 2005. All this spanning 2 hours and 25 minutes.

Just like the premise of my original question, the mix does contain mostly under played, or under appreciated tracks, or tracks that did not become truly appreciated for their greatness until much later on.

This is the product of two days work including the track curation, ripping of vinyl (and cleaning up said vinyl as much as the worn grooves and / or bad pressings would allow), recording the actual mix, and the final mastering. So, I hope you enjoy the fruits of the labour.

The result: 2005 won by one vote, with 2003, 2004 and 2006 being very close.

The result is a mix made up of tracks that: were released in 2005, were still doing the damage on '05 dancefloors despite being released in previous years, were big in 2005 but not released until 2006, and tracks that I wish I had heard more often in the glorious year that is 2005. All this spanning 2 hours and 25 minutes.

Just like the premise of my original question, the mix does contain mostly under played, or under appreciated tracks, or tracks that did not become truly appreciated for their greatness until much later on.

This is the product of two days work including the track curation, ripping of vinyl (and cleaning up said vinyl as much as the worn grooves and / or bad pressings would allow), recording the actual mix, and the final mastering. So, I hope you enjoy the fruits of the labour.
