Moreover, Nowan wanted to record a podcast for us anyway. So, we thought this might be a good way to use this recording. We personally prefer live recordings over studio mixes anyway and this set is a top-notch representation of why we love live recordings.

Nun zum einen mixt der Typ seit Jahrzehnten und weiß deshalb ziemlich genau wie es klingen muss. Da sitzt das Mixing einfach perfekt. Zum anderen ist er nach all der Zeit eine einzigartige Symbiose mit der Musik eingegangen, was es ihm ermöglicht, eine bunte Mischung aus den unterschiedlichsten Stilen des Drum and Bass zusammenzuführen. Hört einfach mal rein und lasst euch überraschen!

With the help of our next podcast we will investigate the Universe of Drum and Bass a little deeper than usual. However, this mix directly confronts us with the edges of this amazing genre. We asked our friend DJ DDT who basically has been around since day one. He describes himself as: „Professional dilettante, nationally certified nutter and inventor of the silicone-free breakfast egg“. We couldn't have said it any better. Anyway, thanks for all the years of education in the art of Bass. Responsible for musical wild fires in his hometown Bayreuth, he is known as one of the pioneers of this music. Maybe some of you even remember the Nervous Breakdown Crew. Since these days we know that Drum and Bass and DDT belong together!

What he send us over can easily be labeled as a classical DDT. Why, you may ask? Well, first of all this dude is playing music for centuries and therefore knows exactly how a mix has to sound like. Secondly, we assume that he has developed some kind of symbiosis with Bass music. This could at least be reason why he has such an outstanding sense of selection. Nach einer halben Ewigkeit seit dem letzten Podcast von Damaged Minds freuen wir uns jetzt umso mehr, dass mal wieder was in der Pipeline steht. Anfang November durften einige von euch bezeugen, was Coco Bryce für einen außerordentlich guten Musikgeschmack hat. Vielleicht noch schöner ist es, dass er den auch mit uns teilen möchte.

Als wir ihn gefragt hatten, ob er nicht Lust hätte einen kleinen Mix aufzunehmen, hat er keine Sekunde gezögert und innerhalb kürzester Zeit einen Mix für euch und uns aus dem Hut gezaubert, der sich sehen lassen kann! Das darf man sich schon mal auf der Zunge zergehen lassen, 15 tracks, davon 9 unreleased, und – das brauchen wir ja hier eigentlich gar nicht mehr extra zu erwähnen – natürlich messerscharf gemixt.

Coco Bryce hält nicht nur was er verspricht, er überrascht immer wieder mit einzigartigen Selections, die den Erwartungshorizont stets sprengen. Es ist wohl nicht übertrieben zu behaupten, dass es absoluter Genuss ist dem Breakbeat Scientist aus den Niederlanden zuzuhören. Also lehnt euch zurück und schaut mal wohin euch die Musik bringt.

After quite some time we finally come back with another Podcast. We are super happy to have something special for you again, after Damaged Minds' last podcast nearly 2 years ago. In early November some of you were able to witness the extraordinary taste in music from the one and only Coco Bryce. Luckily, he shares his taste with us and suprised us with something which is anything else but average.

As we asked him to record a mix, he didn't even hesitated for a second. Within no time he came up with a mix that is without equal! Well, just simply listen to the mix and you know for yourself why we are so stoked. 15 tracks, 9 dubs and of course razorsharp mixing skills.

This guy from the Netherlands doesn't only keep a promise, he just pushes the boundaries. We are happier than ever to have had such an outstanding artist and DJ here in Thuringa.
