My submission for /r/songamonth July 2016.

'Bout damn time I get to actually releasing songs. I mean, it's a remix, but it's a remix of a song I was in, so it's gotta count, right?

Anyways, I was, essentially, dared to make a remix of this song, and a dance remix at that, because the original song is a solid slice of rock rap/pop. More on the rock than anything else though. This song was probably one of the most fun times I've ever had working on the song, from playing with the vocals, to modifying the guitars, to even getting some really cool parts by playing with synths and effects.]]>

This was....a weird one. I started this by hearing a loop I heard online. It just so happened to be the chord progression of Canon in D. So, I recreated the loop with my own piano, made the base of the song, and made some lyrics. After finishing the majority of the song, my father (Scott van Teeffelen) jumped in and added some awesome guitar and bass work, along with final mixing and mastering.

The song is meant to be about a guy who loves a girl, even if he knows that she's controlling. It's basically a love-blind relationship, where the guy can't acknowledge that the girl can do anything wrong, while it is blatantly obvious to everyone around him.

It really pushed what I thought I could do with audio, so I'm glad it turned out okay in the end.
