The Podcast Intro by Soul Clap:

For obvious reasons Episode 69 is pretty important here on the mothership. So when we realized that it was coming up we thought about maybe skipping it until we could get a special Soul Clap mix ready. That was until I heard Mazda’s sound of one soul clapping mix, or more importantly, made love to Mazda’s mix and justified the perfect Episode 69. Mazda aka Audio Prophecy is a Boston-based DJ and aspiring producer who understands the importance of mature and sexy music and this style shines through on the mix, which I had to rename in honor of the occasion.

Here are words from the man himself:

The only way I could explain my relationship with music is obssessive addiction, Never satsified with what I have in hands and always looking for my next fix. It started with collecting, searching for the rare releases and then the urge to share / twist/ edit and spin followed. My message to everybody out there: It’s Ok not to fit into a particular grid or style or image. The sound of one hand clapping is dedicated to that spirit. Most of the artists on this mix have somewhat shown their middle finger to the man and did their own thing and subsequently succeeded at it. We got the deep spacey sounds of Space Ranger (former Dublex inc members), Crowdpleaser and Autodeep (future stars of deep house), to the nu-disco funk of Maurice Fulton, Lindstrom, Aeroplane and Tensnake, & the global sounds of Moodymanc and DJ Disse (Music for Dreams). No self respecting soul clap mix would come without a few left field edits, here we have bloodfire’s remix of James Brown (GAMM), and re-boots of Curtis Mayfield and D-train. The mix ends with soulful sounds of Trus’me, Rick poppa Howard and Glimpse leading to spiritual nirvana of Lightness by Dollar Mambo (newly signed to Mental Groove). You may like or dislike this mix, but please embrace it’s spirit of adventure and seek your own Musical Lightness.
