cultivating degenerating misery
whilst home grown anarchists
break the glass in countless fire alarms
these numbers betray the history
as one after another
the lights go out in every house
knowledge is not power
it is only nouce
and mine says
quit now whilst you are ahead
for self dignity has not yet been bled
from heart true
from my veins blue
as the oxygen is being squeezed
from whistle blowing lungs
my ladder has run out of rungs
and the ones going down are broken
the antagonists complain
in words silently spoken
by raised eyebrows and sarcastic grins
watching the meat being thrown to the dogs
whilst we scavenge through the bins
as they watch from the double lock office door
accessible only by email and intercom
twice removed from the shop floor]]>
