Improvisation, being that it emerges and unfolds from Nowhere into the NowHere makes use of a few essential, intuitive and resonant elements. This creative current comes forth according to simple natural laws of flow and harmony, I feel that Improvisation illustrates The Way of Tao beautifully. It remains my very favorite way of eXpressing mySelf. And really, we all do it in varying degrees. :)
In-deed...as one Lets Go to the Creative principles of Initiation, Response, Momentum, Release, and Flow, what emerges may well Harmonize easily with Tao and thus increase it. Given of course....that it unfolds naturally, and easily, without 'trying'. I often compare it to 'falling off a log'. :))
The Initial impetus or spark, embodies 'The Creative' bright (Yang) aspect... and together with 'The Responsive', receptive (Yin)aspect, they complement each other and become Something wholly different in ONENESS. TAO, or The Flow of Life also unfolds in this manner. it's a matter of Balance, and Flow......... (Much as the Positive (+) and the Negative (-) aspects of electrical forces make possible the flow or Current of what we call Electricity.)

Letting Life's essences flow through us clearly, one eXperiences Peace, Harmony, Growth, and a Quiet Joy that easily and continuously Creates an Atmosphere in which Something wholly New can manifest.

And beyond all of the above.... simply inJoy the piano as it gives Voice to the Music, and ReLaX.........

Yes! and they can help us set a 'moral compass' for ourselves.
And luckily...
They are within us!
beyond 'book-learnin', beyond anyone else's power to answer.

We are like 'Deep Wells' of living water.
All we have to be willing to do is 'let it come out', 'let it nourish whatever environment we find ourselves in.'

In any case, i'm writing this to give you something nutritious to read while listening! ;) :-D

This little Piano Improvisation embodies my 'Thoughts In The Night'.
i find... that as i meditate on such things as i play my Piano, it never lies to me. It helps me 'commune' with the Cosmos. ;)
It best describes my approach to the instrument. And that's why i have called this Genre- 'Mystical Piano'.

Anyway... as you listen.. (and please..put it on repeat) i hope you'll 'hear' some of your questions, and maybe an answer or two as well! ;)

For if it suggests anything, it is that 'There is Peace at Center, and Center is Everywhere.

What you hear first in this composition represents the Cosmic Background Radiation even now remaining from the imagined Big Bang. (Indeed, these vibrational FingerPrints were theorized, and then revealed by C.O.B.E., NASA's..... CO(smic) B(ackground) E(xplorer)

And this 'radiant energy' continues to resonate throughout this entire MultiVerse ....

Yes...i know...
"it all sounds kinda New Agey" ... and... perhaps these liner notes' could be so construed. But in this case, this music was born out of months of contemplation of a Huge life-manifested Zen Koan i came up against! :)) Hah... but what an opportunity to Compose through. ;)

The Koan was " What is the Sound of Manifestation? What is the SOUND of the Process of The Stuff of Life - Arising ? As as it does, it dances, and sparks New manifestations of substance in this plane - and then dissolves back into 'the vacuum' out of which it arose.
What could 'that' sound like?
Hmmmm. Impossible, yet tantalising.

No matter .. many have found that the peace they felt in resonating with whatever IT ultimately IS, is More than Enough to keep them totally interested. ;)

If you find this composition relaxing and easy to flow with ...
then i am more than happy.

Heck, what more could i ever want than to be intimately involved with Something so Awesome? :D

The very Air we breathe is a beginning. :)) Our 'blessings' are what we would all do well to center on. And Not the crap! Yes... Hell is all around us day by day, and there's so much to draw our attention to it, but it's nothing special. But what gives us Joy surely is! :)

Anyway.... getting back to the music.

This piece came through me like a fresh and welcome breeze. In fact... i had forgotten all about it until earlier today when reviewing some of my recent Improvisational Piano recordings. Wow i thought. "This is so peaceful....and so beautiful... that i 've got to share it with everyone on SoundCloud as a kind of dynamic Bookend to my recent JazZ Piano piece 'What She Said'. Indeed....it couldn't be much more opposite. Further, i recommend headphones, as it's clear as a bell, but will take some 'mindful' listening to hEAR in the best light. It makes me Smile. It feels like a number of re-vitalizing Oases that unfold before a weary traveler on the Long Road of Life, enabling further progress.
Using another analogy, an Oasis of Calm within oneself in the midst of the craziness of this 'ol world allows one the peace of mind to move forward. Tranquility, Harmony and Beauty still exist and must be something that we carry with us wherever we go. All of these priceless states of being are freely available if we just pause.... and let that reality well up and then be eXpressed creatively in some manner.
i truly hope you find an 'Oasis' within yourSelf' as you listen and inJoy.

I didn't know it whilst creating it, but this composition was destined to expand into a 3 part Suite called ' SUITE DISSILIENCE' (See my track list). There you can hear Sirius Dissilience, and Whirlwind.

However... The Seminal piece in this Suite is definitely this one! It was originally composed and arranged for Organ, Voice, and Percussion. But along came a few other orchestral elements. Ha! really...where would we be without ' the Strings' Family! ;-)

My original working title on this one was - the Voice of Spring - but after hearing it back many times, i realized that it represents a fairly accurate Sonic Picture of what i mean by my own word - Dissilience -" To burst forth "...as in the massive budding of flowers in Spring, the creation of Suns and Galaxies, or the instant a seed becomes a plant ! Or..a 'Sound-Seed' a fully orchestrated piece of Music! :-D

O's vocals certainly add VOLUMeS to this description! :)I owe her a whole lot on this one!

It is that 'essence' of 'bursting forth' which I always seek to find, experience, explore, and to somehow re-create... again and again in as many new and unique forms as possible. Yes..that's exactly what 'seeds' are here for! And this includes ' Sound-Seeds' !;-)
