This is part of the Gene Pitney Tribute show I'm presently working on (both audio and charts) to be presented to perhaps the cruise lines for possible booking. The music will be played by the musicians live after I have blanked out (muted) all the appropriate parts and given the musicians the charts depending which instruments the ship might have in it's orchestra. I knew Gene personally and worked with him as a writer / producer / sound tech for about 10 years back in the day. His passing is a very big loss. His shoes as a great talent can never be filled. As a friend and musician I am attempting to bring to his fans a remembrance of his show which I have the charts for, including Maurice Merry's Overture used at the opening. I started sequencing this show to be used by Gene at his request and we had a few rehearsals on Town Without Pity at his beach house in Stafford Springs CT. many years ago. This recording was finished about 3 months ago at which time I sent the sheet music to several old musician friends in CT. I had hoped they would record the parts live and send me back the files and then I would remix them back into the audio so to have live performers on the recording instead of sequenced recording I did myself. That never happened so I've decided to up link what I have at present. This tune is the tie-in between Gene Pitney and Al Kooper as Al is one of the writers of this tune. When I was writing for Gene, he told me of Al's submitting tunes to him and how well they were orchestrated. I never knew how the two of them got together ( GP and BS&T ) being so different yet now I understand. Gene DID lean towards R&B and is evident in another show tune of his "Heart-breaker" which I will finish and upload at another time.
