Queen & Disco started out as a way for friends to share tracks and views about music. The main driving force behind it all was the fact that ‘genre’ didn’t matter, so long as what was being played was something you could get into, may it be lyrically or through a straight up groove.

They started throwing parties in May 2013 and really haven’t looked back since. They’ve had some top acts perform for them including Horse Meat Disco, Get Down Edits, Late Nite Tuff Guy, LTJ Xperience, Craig Smith, Dicky Trisco, Rahaan, Marcel Vogel and more. The music though is just one part of it, for the thing to work, everything has to come together. Venue, sound, music, and most importantly of all, the crowd.

At just 21 it is often hard to feel a connection to the essence of a genre which was in its prime before he was even born, but one night at the disco with Get Down Edits and Late Nite Tuff Guy on 2nd August 2013 was enough to show what it’s all about. Exquisite track selection, endless grooves, recognisable yet reworked classics and a feel good vibe being constants through their sets, productions and edits. AMEs has drawn from the two, as well as many others to ensure that age is no issue and the youthful eyes only help to add to the magic.

2013 has been a massive year for Alan Mooney's Edits, co-founding Queen&Disco in May before finally getting involved in the art of the re-edit. It was Queen & Disco that provided the platform but AMEs now stands on its own through merit due to a series of well received edits & mixes.]]>

Track 1, "KOFI" from Alan Mooney's Edits is a Beatdown masterpiece. A sample ripped from a dusty old record, bent and moulded in the digital realm for it to be put back on wax and it doesn't stop giving. As far as introductions go, this one is a bit special.]]>
