The first Aerotek release of the year is here and what's more fitting than to have it come from our label boss Rolando Hodar. Since the very first ever release of Aerotek titled 'Intro 2 Aero', Rolando has been determined to create something special that defines the overall style and sound of the label and has been working diligently to come back with some quality productions. And without further a due, we welcome you 'Lighten Up'! A 3 track EP that we are very proud to showcase to you all. This release includes a remix by our young and very talented rising star roster member, Eddie Krystal and a collaboration track titled 'GrimeBall' with one of our label right hand mans, UL aka Jesse Urban!

The sound design of Lighten Up is inspired primarily on the heavy and raw groove of the techno house genre. During the creation of this track, Rolando's goal was to accentuate moody characteristics with a dark edgy vibe. We feel like he succeeded particularly with the prominent basslines and choppy, creepy vocal samples. To add to this energy, the track continues to gain momentum in the 2nd half by introducing a different variation of the rolling bassline and the overpowering chord riser. Definitely gets the senses going.

Next up, Eddie's remix couldn't better compliment the original with his tailored modern techno style that we have come to love. Eddie perfectly creates his own groove with his deep rolling bassline but then adds some necessary grit with his dark and sinister chords that creates an overall vibe of dark and funky vibe that suites the release very well!

And finally we have 'GrimeBall', a proud collaboration with the very knowledgeable and well respected UL aka Jesse Urban! With Rolando coming up with the initial idea and foundation of the track, he was more than happy to give UL the reigns so he could add what he does best, distortion filth and his production techniques to polish this track so that it truly shines and bumps on a great soundsystem. The project quickly became a versus back and forth battle between the two with the end result being a well written track properly titled as GrimeBall. Truly an honor for Rolando to work Jesse with the hopes of more to come. Hope you all enjoy!
