An exercise in songwriting. I wrote this 1-minute song in 30 minutes start to finish; it's not great, but I think it's okay for something I only wrote to get my creative juices flowing to write longer stuff. Like how writers might write daily freewrites. Lyrics below. Inspired by reflecting on dating. Drawn from recent experience, but not exactly 'digging deep'.

I bid you adieu
I’m telling you
Don’t bother
Coming this way again

Sure you’re a nice guy
And so bland
That I cry
Don’t mistake us for friends

Dude I’m sick of smiling
For the fifty-seventh time
Even Jesus would give up
After seven and seven times

Yes I get it
You’re not special
But why proclaim it
So loudly

Not a badge
Being such a bore
Not a pin
To wear proudly

Tell me your fears
What pumps your blood
Tell me the times
You emerged from a flood

Spin me your yarns
Preach your heaven
Just answer me one thing
What’s your vision
