To say the Reframe is excited to welcome Flash Atkins to the fold as guest selector to this the latest edition is an understatement. A mix that has been in the Reframes mitts since mid summer we have held onto this for the last few months exclusively airing in Reframe HQ waiting to unleash as the nights draw in and leaves turn golden. For this is a mix that is to be listened to and savoured, dedicate a couple of hours to one side, pour yourself your favourite accompaniment and kick back....

Every once in a while you venture on a collection of music so encapsulating or intriguing that inspires, influences and switches you onto new paths. Flash Atkins has readily achieved this with a genre defying amble through afro, Balearic, electronic, downbeat melancholy and beyond. A simply beautiful seamless selection spanning two hours.

Flash Atkins is the superheroe pseudonym of Ben Davis whose latest album was released on Paper recordings 'The Life and Times'. paper records is a label Ben is co-founder, he also is labe owner of shaboom and Blacktrax records. Flash Atkins was always on the Reframe radar given the unhealthy amount of money and time invested into his work and labels over the year

As always enjoy and if it resonates then listen, love and share fondly ☺ For tracklistings, regular info and updates on the show and to make contact with the reframe mothership head to www.facebook.com/groups/thereframeshow/?fref=ts

M-Mesa::The Reframe Show June 2015 Edition::Featuring Balearic Social Guest Mix

This month the reframe show goes Yorkshire with Leeds comrade Andy Pyes Balearic Social dropping by to join Mick with a delightfully left of centre chugging mix of alternative electronics and Balearic treats. We asked Andy if he would provide a more upbeat outing in his balearic social guise. Andy gladly obliged and the results of which land on the show from roughly an hour in. Balearic Social is a longstanding radio show, club night based in Leeds, Andy has been gathering records for a lifetime dipping into the alternative and crossing many genres. As a DJ he is regularly lifting dancefloors across the UK and also abroad at festivals. From Mick this month expect a melee of loveliness...the show kicks off with Stone Cold White, The Jellies and the Vox Populi before easing into disco from the vaults that have been bugging the record player for far too long and have needed some exposure.

Inspirations from city dwellings....

A selection of melancholic musings put together during a week in Copenhagens Rosenvengaets Alle. Riding bikes, eating pastries and taking in the art and culture was the inspiration behind the selection.

Hope you enjoy, if you do drop by and say hi and lovingly share with friends family, random strangers and anyone else who would like. If you are after track lists or any further info on shows join the Reframe Facebook page for irregular musings www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=104474882918132

FM4 Blurb: The selection was aired on FM4 La Boume Deluxe http://fm4.orf.at/radio/stories/1708356 on the 23rd November 2011 M-Mesa (UK) - Rosenvengaets) - Rosenvengaets Alle Mix (super liquider mellow mix)

Achtung! Herausragend!

THE REFRAME
M-Mesa The Reframe October 2011 with Guest Beta Hector (Tru Thoughts)
September saw the Reframe take a break as impending fatherhood finally arrived and gladly grabbed all the spare time available…and then some. The podcast returned to the airwaves on the 14th October with a renewed vigour. This month Mick welcomed along the rather splendid Beta Hector whose album Sunbeam Insulin dropped in early September on the rather fabulous Tru Thoughts label out of Sunny Brighton.

The Podcast is a lazy sojourn through hazy downbeats, dusty breaks, 60's psychedelia, smoky soul and head nodding hip hop. In the first 90 minutes Mick takes the podcast through artists including Jaylib, The Bins, Beat Konducta, Madvillain, Iron Butterfly, Velvet Underground, Jon Kennedy, Bonobo, RJD2, Shawn Lee, Midnight EEZ, Paul White, Letta Mbulu, King Britt, Louis Mackey amongst others.

Beta Hector Biog

Beta Hector also known as Simon Hill who in 2008 formed the deep funk band Baby Charles receivingrave reviews from the likes of MOJO and Pitchfork for their debut album in 2008, touring Europe and gracing Glastonbury festival. With major radio play from Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio 1), several sessions for the BBC including Mark Lamarr (Radio 2) and the 6 Music Funk & Soul Show, plus heavy international support.
Si was also making beats and loops since the late nineties, but got a real taste of producing when he co-mixed the Baby Charles album. It wasn’t long before Beta Hector was born out of experimenting with heavy drum loops, bass lines, analogue synths, guitars, vintage tape machines and a range of talented vocalists.
Lovingly share with friends family, random strangers and anyone else who would like just over 2 hours of musical meanderings as you wish... If you are after track lists or any further info on shows join the Reframe Facebook page for irregular mailouts minus the spam. You can join here
