Mixed on Sunday 27th January 2019 - published on Sunday 3rd February at 6am (UK time)

As this year (2019) marks the 50th anniversary of the 6-7 second (4 bar) drum solo performed by Gregory Sylvester "G.C." Coleman which first appeared in the song "Amen, Brother" by The Winston Brothers, I wanted to mark the occasion by selecting all the tunes between 1992 and 1997 that uses the most-sampled beat in any way, shape or form even if it only very briefly appears in any given tune.

This is Part. 1 and is 1992-94 Hardcore before the split into jungle/drum 'n' bass and 4-beat (latterly happy hardcore) and all in no particular order.

Part 2 I will do around April or May and will feature the original song from 1969.

N Joi!
