Every year, one million abortions take place in the U.S. Some take place out of life-threatening complications to the mother, but more times than often, a conscious choice is made to end the baby's life. Although there is much debate that goes into making such an important decision, there is always one voice that is never heard . . . .

I wrote this song to bring a perspective that is never heard. Unfortunately, all babies are not born under the best circumstances. In those undesirable circumstances, it can be easy for parents to put their circumstance before the baby. My hope is that we would think of the wonderful chance we've been given to make our mark in this life, and extend that courtesy to the young one to come!

VERSE 1
Dear mom, it's me your baby boy, still growing inside
I heard you're having second thoughts about preserving my life
Look I ain't mad, and I know they say that you reserve the right
But I'm wishing for your attention, please hear my plight
They say you started college, future lawyer in the making
Tryna gain that knowledge, hoping to bring in that bacon,
Met this guy, could he be your forever
Cue that Al Green, maybe y'all could stay together
But it didn't work out as well as you assumed
Had a bad break up, plus I'm growing in your womb
You've always wanted a family, but not without a daddy
Your career's got you contemplating on whether to have me
Look I know life isn't going as planned
But I'm hoping I can still be a part of your plans
The road might be rough, but it's still in His hands
I just ask for one thing, that you give me a chance

CHORUS
You don't hear me crying, but I hear you crying
You don't know me but I know you
Don't give up just give me a chance
Give me a chance, just give me a chance
You don't know me but I know you
Don't give up, you know I'm almost due

VERSE 2
Dear mom it's me your baby boy still growing inside
I guess your still having thoughts about preserving my life
Look I ain't mad, and I know they say you reserve the right
But I'm wishing for your attention, please hear my plight
Hey I'll be honest, I'm excited and I can't wait to meet you
Can't wait to open my eyes, to the day that I see you
Right now it feels so warm inside, and I know that I'm loved
Cause when your hands are on your belly, I can feel those hugs
And plus, I'm getting bigger every week
My heartbeat is racing, plus I feel my hands and feet
Maybe it's not the ideal time, but we still got time for things to change
Before you give birth to me, Look
Sometimes, life doesn't go as it's planned
But I'm hoping I can still be a part of your plans
Remember no matter what, that it's still in His hands
If I could ask for one thing, it'd be to give me a chance, please think about it

VERSE 3
Look, I could never walk a single day in your shoes
But speaking for themselves, babies can't really do
I know your heart is heavy, my would be too
But put the focus on the baby for a sec and not you
Cause just like you, he was fearfully made
And just like you, God gave him a name
Don't let nobody tell that abortion solves problems
He's a blessing from the Lord, not an issue needing resolving, he's a human being
Created by the Creator, you relief may be quick
But what about the grief later
Don't matter how he got here, he still deserves to live
He shouldn't have to suffer, for what his father did, or he didn't do
See I've learned, life doesn't go as we've planned
But never have we been beyond the reach of His hand
Before we formed in the womb, we were a part of His plan
And while we were yet sinner, you know what, He gave us a chance
