Foggy's Farewell Fling Farmer Mix

A special tribute to a very special man. Those who ever met Foggy (Chris Kinghorn) never forget him, his irrepressible enthusiasm for life and adventures which was totally infectious. Before any of us were involved in this strange life of music, late nights and festivals I met Foggy through sleeping out in the countryside during weekends rock climbing in The Lake District. This friendship continued as we grew up and we travelled further afield to europe, Chamonix and the Alps. Chris's love of climbing and the mountains led him to want to jump off the tops and a strong commitment to paragliding developed and became the main focus of his adventures. A mutal love of parties saw us reunited in the late 90's, and then as we became more involved with organistion, stage builds and production he was always there ready to graft for no reward. Always smiling and never a bad word spoken he was a great marra for any adventure. His last project was to drive a clapped out van to South Africa, but fate took its toll and an unfortunate meeting with a mosquito on the jouirney led to a rapid decline and death from Cerebal Malaria.
His active non stop life was full of a wide range of people from many backgrounds and it was a large collection of these people who came together as wake to celebrate the many happy memories of the man.
Although always at the front at parties he was renowned for shouting , Louder, Faster at the Djs and `get on with it` often cut through the lull of a breakdown. These calls accompanied by an infectious grin actually endeared him to many DJs who often later became his good friends.
This mix is taken from that final celebration night we put on in honour of his remembrance and goes back to many of the tunes he loved in the early days. Something slightly different to my more current mixes it includes tunes I used to play 20 years ago with a nod to his rock routes.
