Bangin' 1992 techno with positive vibes as thick as Carl Cox's neck. For the sake of any dance music noobs who found this, yes Carl Cox used to play these records and records are these round plastic discs that were etched with grooves to be played on a Thomas Edison invention called the phonograph.

I was saving some slower 1991 - 1992 records for when I bought more of this type of stuff on Discogs however what tripped me into doing it early is that my long time friend scored some free records off Dave Hollands. Most of those were techno (that set will come sortly) but a few were decent 1992 stuff that I hadn't heard before. The stand out record being System W.B.B.S. "That Gets My Heart Pumpin' (Piano Mix)" (Dance International INT 005) 1992. What a tune that one is, it's quite a wonderful thing as it blends the piano vibes of Sonz of a Loop da Loop Era with the grooves of a Joey Beltram track. I had heard that voice sample in the title track only previously in Techno Madness "Techno Madness (Scotts Remix)" so hearing another tune based around that sample was the same as seeing an old friend again.

I started the mix out with Clubland "Let's Get Busy" followed by FDW "Magic Orchestra" because thats how I heard Let's Get Busy the very first time. I thought it was a Grooverider set however I went through all my Grooverider sets and I can't find the one. Some famous DJ played those two tracks in 1990 but I have no idea where I heard it now. If anyone knows the set please give me a shout in the comments about it.

The pinecone record out of my own collecting adventures is certainly Marveline "Learn To Love (Turbo Mix)" (Profile PROFT 368DJ) 1992. I first heard this track on the ** American release of Hit the Decks vol.3 (Which was called Hit the Decks vol. 1 - Techno DJs take control). The track was the second played in the Megabass mix. I must say the version Megabass made themselves for their own mix was much better as it featured a breakbeat simmilar to Bizzare Inc "I'm gonna get you". The actual record release of "Learn to Love" is breakbeat-less which makes it sound a little less wow. It's still one of the more exceing tracks of 92. As a future project I'm going to do a long playing mix of every track in Hit the Decks vol. 3 as well as some choice cuts from vol.2. It would be nice to hear those tracks played for more then a few seconds.

This mix here finishes off with an early Isotonik record called Grooverider & Fabio "Darklands". This track was made by Chris Paul (Isotonik) with probably little input from those other two (though I susspect the repeating male vocal was Groove's idea as he has used that technique in an unreleased track of his from 93). Dispite the trackname its a lovely happy tune which sounds a lot like later Isotonik and Rhythm Section floor fillers.

Hope you dig this and lastly I want to give a shout to Kleez-one on Discogs for continuing to educate me and the rest of the world about this stuff. I wouldn't have known about Wonka Beats 2022 if it wasn't for you. My friend (who got the Dave Hollands stuff for me) had long told me that the later Wonka beats was all trance crap and clearly 2022 is not trance, it sounds more like 1991 N-Joi to me.
