1992 - 041113 Grooveriders Groove (320kbps)

Heres another one from the #1 USA Grooverider fan boy.

I really liked this Grooverider set I have that was just called Grooverider @ FutureHardcore 1994. I downloaded it from the "oldschool" mailing list (pre Back to the old skool message board) in 1998. The sould quality was crap and I couldn't even download the entire B side of this mix. The tracks on the first side were wonderful. Most of the tracks sounded like a continuation of fluffy 1993 'ardkore and previously I thought all 1994 jungle was ragga sample fest nonsense.

Thanks to a fellow bedroom dj / collector who goes by the name "N-Flow" on the internets, I was able to find out that this set was called Grooverider @ The Edge, The Final Chapter. With that I was able to ID all of the tracks and I'm very thankful for the help. Sadly two of the tracks were played on dubplates and were never released. So remaking this set is out of the question. I'm not too surprised the bleepy tune (Chapter 19) turned out to by Dillinja because I bought at track of his called "Amen Bleeps" in 2000 because it reminded me of this one. Sometimes I find it amazing that Dillinja used to make good jungle in the early days, I really wonder what happened to him.

So this set is more of a hommage to Grooverider @ The Edge, The Final Chapter as the center of the set is the best part from that event. The rest is other 1994 (or late 93) stuff that I got recently that fits well with the rest.

On a side note, that Top Buzz record is one that I had the chance to buy MANY times but always passed it up. I saw it for sale again by a really good seller for cheap so I decided to get it. I'm glad I did and I don't know what I was thinking when I passed it up all those times. Both sides are just so amazing! The Wok sounds simmilar to Speedy J's Rise and the flip sounds like Tango's Disturbance remix but with uplifting vocals and a proper hands in the air bit.

After making this one I saw N-Flow uploaded a mix of his own where he ended his set with the exact same two tracks, Atlantic Drama into Horizons. We probably made these on the same day too, must have been telepathy.
